that's what the forecast says and i'm happy about it. we need rain and i need to stay inside and get creative! the only bad thing about it raining, is we planned to go to payton and jake's soccer games this weekend and if it's raining, that isn't going to happen.
last night, i took some really impromptu tummy shots of brooke. it took like 5 minutes. the boys kept jumping in the photos, as well as the dog. but we got a few good ones.
there are a few more in the april album. they didn't find out ahead of time with either of the boys, that they were having boys, but this time they are tempted. brooke has had 2 ultrasounds and the baby was not in a position that the doctor could tell the sex, so i guess it will be a surprise again. i love that!this is the first time i have taken any photos of brooke pregnant. the first preggers shots i took were of jennifer when she was pregnant with molly and now i've done quite a few. i love doing these, as well as newborn shots. of course, i enjoy taking photos of almost anyone! or anything! i'm off to work this morning~hoping to be creative this afternoon.
we had a great time at our cooking class last night! i'm completely inspired! makes me want to cook and be creative. the class was called *spring fling*, the chef prepared stuffed mushrooms, sauted scallops, field greens with vinagrette and chicken, roasted carrots and asparagus with hollendaise(sp) and then for dessert, a buttercream filled torte`. wonderful food! cool tip on the hollendaise...she added fresh orange juice! yum. it was all simple food and the chef was very aware of nutritional value. it was so relaxing! there were only four of us in the class, so it felt cozy and personal. the buttercream torte was so delish~and we learned how to do a basket weave. pretty simple. pam and i left and went to target, where i bought the white square plates that i've been wanting~and they were on sale! another thing i found interesting about getting out and taking the class, was that just doing it, seemed to get my creativity flowing again. everything i looked at was inspiring. funny how that works.
typepad does not like me today. took forever just to load these three photos! anyhoodle, we had a great time and left WS stuffed!
happy belated birthday to my friend, cutie boutie! i am so mad at myself for not wishing her a happy birthday on the blog yesterday! hope you had a great day and got to eat thai last night vicki!
i love babies. freshly born. love them as they grow too! i had the best time photographing these little cuties~
her big brothers have the sweetest look on their faces as they look at her.
tonight, pam and i are going to a cooking class at williams sonoma. should be fun! poppy tom plans to ride the harley to alexis' program~providing the weather cooperates. tom's truck and my durango are both getting less and less road worthy. we need to go visit josh and get a new car. we have been talking for a while now and need to just do it! the durango is in the shop this morning~i'm hoping it is ready to go by this afternoon.
this is when i wish i was a great story teller~because there is a really funny story to be told and i probably won't do it justice. but i have to try! we had our garage sale on saturday(it went great, we sold tons of stuff!) and at one point after the busy rush, brooke stopped by, so we were talking with her and the boys when a hot sounding car approached. of course, tom is taking notice as this 1964 red corvette convertible with the hood off pulls up and parks to come to our sale! the chick driving is a sort of gearhead type with long hair and a baseball cap. tom meets her at the approach of our driveway and asks her if it's for sale. they talk for a long time, total guy talk with her swearing like a sailor. brooke and i have turned our attention back to the sale when i hear *deb* say "do you wanna go for a ride?" and tom says "sure!". tom was holding g, so he walked over to bring g to us and we are trying not to laugh. *deb* says, "now, i can't get on it, cuz the motor's not broke in yet". and tom say's, "oh that's fine" and later tells us he's thinking, "thank God, cuz otherwise i might die in a car accident!". so they hop in the vette and brooke and i are watching them pull away~she hits second gear and tom's head snaps back! we are DYING laughing, because tom's neck is 22 inches thick and his head NEVER snaps back! she lays rubber all the way down our street! i was laughing so hard, but i knew i needed my camera, so i ran in the house, grabbed my camera and came back out ready to catch this experience. after a few minutes we hear them coming back, they come around the corner and tom is driving!!! i am laughing so hard, i can't even take photos! finally managed to get a few!
they were doing the buddy handshake and having a good ol' time. now i've been teasing tom that some night, we will be having dinner at home and we'll hear a loud engine rumble, then a horn will toot and he'll jump up and run outside to hop in with *deb*! only tom could make a new friend so quickly!
today is my friend pam's birthday~happy birthday pam! we are having a birthday lunch for her today. so i need to get to work so i can join them when i'm done!
last night was good for my soul. one of our favorite spring/summer activities is having friends over and grilling and eating outside. after a pretty draining week, we had donna, jamie and my sister, poo over last night. i feel now like spring is officially here. we grilled marinated shrimp and steaks and ate until we felt like we were going to burst! we also laughed until we thought we would burst. i haven't laughed that hard or that much in ages! our intentions were to hot tub later, but we never got around to it. such a fun night! wish i had taken photos!
it might be a long day today~sitting outside at our sale. i did already sell one of j's wakeboards. a girl knocked on our door last night after seeing our ad in the paper.
sometimes i am amazed at how much can happen in a 24 hour period. many nights, tom and i will lay in bed and talk about how full our lives are. full of people we love, full of activity. i think that may be the secret to staying young at heart. yesterday i was thinking about how wrapped up i get in the busyness of life and how aware i am of *what* i'm getting done and checking off my to do list. but really as much as i love accomplishing things, i want my life to reflect the relationships i've built, more than what i've accomplished. my friend pam has been so good for me, because she is all about relationships. her 4 children are grown and yet the time she invested in them and continues to invest is apparent in their connection with her now. i hope my attitude and choices will show that relationships are more valuable to me than anything else in life. including my relationship with the Lord.
a very dear person in our family had a traumatic experience yesterday. she is the most caring, tenderhearted person i know and i hate that she is hurting now. when something like this happens, its makes me even more aware of how important the people in our lives are and i don't want to take any of my loved ones for granted. lots of prayers being said for her.
on a lighter note, the garage sale saga continues. it's a one day sale, starting tomorrow. the photos are for cousin er. do you want anything you see er?
i have two dear friends who share the same name...first and last...and they both have blogs. blonde becca and red becca. and they are both super talented and fun! so excited that i can keep up with both of them through their blogs. i have shared great times and lots of laughs with these two. and i've told them about each other. so now, through the magic of blogdom i introduce you and them to each other!
the inside of the trailer, filled with garage sale junk!
that's what our garage sale is going to be! tom and i went out to the storage bay last night and filled the trailer! i just hope the stuff sells! i'll be taking photos of all the stuff later today or tomorrow as we start to set up. i feel like we actually have some cool stuff to sell, it's just a matter of whether anyone else will think that!
did this layout on monday night. love the new anna griffin papers! isn't gabby gorgeous?
