when i reflect on this past weekend, that is what i think. grilling, eating on the deck, mega-photoshoot, shopping, my favorite antique shop, a full day with friends, indie race, kansas city. whoa...and the weather was glorious.
this morning i was thinking about the weekend photo shoot and it occurred to me that all of a sudden, the photography business is picking up again. saturday morning i had the opportunity to do a shoot of cousins. 2 newborns, a 5 month old, a preschooler and a kindergartener. all boys, with the exception of one little princess. so fun. i am still editing, but thought i would share a few from the first group today. 3 brothers, all adorable. i did a shoot of the 2 boys last summer and now they have a new baby brother. i love returning clients.
i fall in love with almost every child/baby that i photograph and these three are no exception. i say it all the time and i mean it, i am so, so lucky(i don't really believe in luck, but i can't keep saying blessed!) i'm looking forward to shoots coming up this week...a good-looking couple and their hot rod tomorrow, then i'm doing headshots for an acting class at the university on wednesday and an engagement shoot on saturday. woohoo!
i worked on etsy sets on friday night, so i hope to post them tomorrow. i have so many ideas for things i want to do, now i just need to find the time to do them!
yesterday, we spent the day with our pals, rod and kathy(grandparents of haylee). rod called early saturday morning and invited us to join them for a day at the indie race at kansas speedway on sunday. we didn't even hesitate to say yes! the day was so, so fun! they picked us up at 8:30 am and we got home last night at 10:30. it was so good to just be away from everything for a day. one big bonus was that rod was nice enough to stop at one of my very favorite antique shops along the way! i picked up a couple of cute things...which i can't photograph and show you, because i left them in rod and kathy's car. the race was a total blast! tom and i used to take jared to the sprint car races, along with our friend's ken and karen and their boys, when the boys were all little. we would all pick a car at the beginning of the night-so, yesterday, as we were entering the grandstands, i suggested that we all pick a car. i wish we would have done some kind of wager, because kathy's car came in first and mine came in second! out of 21 cars! isn't that crazy? kathy chose her car, because it was the target car(funny story about kathy and target, that many of our friends will remember)and i chose a car for the pretty orange paint job! tom's car crashed right in front of us at the end of the race and rod's came in seventh or so. i didn't even bring my camera to the race. rod has a nice film camera and i think he took quite a few shots. fun to watch someone else who is into photography.
it's going to be a busy, fun week. what are you doing this week?
