trying to think ahead and move forward. i finally finished a project that i have wanted to get to for a while. when our friends caleb and kiesa (from minneapolis) showed up at our door and surprised us, kiesa noticed my 3 piece canvas in the family room and told me she wanted one. she's an amazing florist and she told me that the verse on the canvas is her very favorite. so i finally got hers done...disregard the missing letter G. it's fixed now, but i didn't want to take the time to rephotograph.
it's getting shipped today. feels good to finish and get things sent.
last night, i had an uppercase living party. if you are interested in having one or getting the cool products, let me know and i'll get you in touch with miley. she did a short, but inspiring and informational presentation. for having the party, i got this-
she even installed it! i knew i wanted one in this spot for a while now and i'm really loving the way it looks. i have one for our bedroom too and when i get it put up, i'll post it. very fun stuff! oh and on a side note, yesterday when i posted about common courtesies, i didn't even think about the fact that i was having this party...a couple of my friends have called and said they felt really bad that they didn't rsvp-no worries! i didn't even put the two things together! sometimes i open mouth and insert foot! also, i have wanted to say for some time, that when i write things here, please don't assume that i'm trying to *send a message*. i try not to use this blog for that : )
since i'm sharing creative stuff today, here's a layout i did for green grass stamps.
i did a couple of sort of experimental things on this one. i sanded the photo mat and even tried sanding the stitching a little and really liked the worn affect. i used wool for the flower centers, along with vintage buttons and tied vintage seam binding around the stems. love this photo of addie too! hope to see her this weekend.
looking forward to my show on sunday-design star. so glad that rob is gone! i have thought since the first episode that todd would win, even though he wouldn't be my choice. i think he's very talented, just not realistic. love kim. love will. i could live with any of the rooms i've seen them design. not so much todd. so fun to have a show that is inspiring and total escape. no big plans for the weekend-we are having dinner with friends one night, meeting with a friend for photo business tomorrow and hopefully we'll get to see the kids/grandkids. it's nice to have the weekend sort of open. i just want to be outside and soak up the beautiful weather.
have a refreshing and relaxing holiday weekend!
