it's been a lazy saturday morning and i love it! i've had several large cups of coffee and a yummy bowl of organic oat and walnut cold cereal. we have jared's soccer game and homecoming photos of my nephew trev and his girlfriend(yep, little trev has a girlfriend!) later, but we should be able to stay home until mid-afternoon and work on home projects. jared mentioned last weekend, very casually, that he is up for homecoming royalty at dana. he is very lowkey about it. i don't even know when homecoming for dana is! and while i'm on the subject of jared and college, i just have to say that i support mike gundy, the oklahoma state coach and his after-game press conference completely. we try to watch *game day* on saturday mornings and as they discussed it this morning, tom and i both agreed that we thought what he said and did, were spot-on. having a son the same age as the player gundy defended, probably biases my opinion a bit, but regardless, i respect gundy's strong response. everyone is so worried about being politically correct that sometimes it seems as if we don't stand as strong for what we believe in. both tom and i had heard and read about this incident all week, but we hadn't discussed it yet. i wasn't surprised that we fully agreed on this.
on a lighter note, check the post below for a fun project i did last night. if you want to sign up, you can load and create your own video. just for signing up, you get a free full-length video and one short video. i am addicted. here's the link-animoto. just be warned, it's a time-eater...
and a couple of shots from the week-
kathy bought haylee a little ladybug costume, which is appropriate with *ladybug services* her cleaning business :)
one more thing. taking time for dates with my man is something i don't ever want to stop doing. last night we went in to omaha and ran some photography errands, and then had the whole night for our date. we had the best dinner at firebirds. we ate on the patio and although it was a little breezy, it was such an enjoyable evening. the food was awesome! i had the grilled salmon, parmesan mashed potatoes and steamed vegies. everything was perfection! about the best salmon i've ever eaten(right up there with washington salmon). if you live in the area and haven't eaten there, you need to. we had eaten there before, but had sort of forgotten about it. yummers.
God bless your day!
