hang on typepad. i'm going to play a little catch up here. but first, i have to say thank you! thanks for all the congrats on greyson! he is such a precious gift! i went up to the hospital after a shoot last night, and the three of us sat together and chatted for a long time. it was so great to sit in the quiet and just stare at him and talk with brooke uninterupted. i cherish those times. i hardly took any photos at all yesterday...but they are coming home today, so look out! here's one that shows his dimple (which i am over the moon about!)
i didn't go real crazy this time with photos. the nurses remembered me as the grandma who was standing in the windowsill taking photos of harper. nice.
one other thing i've been wanting to share. i can't even believe the response to the military family photos. i have gotten so many emails. thank you for taking the time to comment and email. here's a quote from one of the emails i received from wendy-" your photos remind me that these people are not just warriors, they are loving, compassionate souls "just doing their job" i received lots of emails with similiar comments. and i so agree. i am in complete awe of the gobers and other military families who are so unselfish.
i did a shoot recently of the pollard family. when we lived at the lake, we drove by their house many times a day. tom always admired the wagon on their place. i found out when i did the shoot, that the wagon was actually mrs pollard's dad's wagon. how cool is that?
they are as nice as they look : )
and here are a few shots from another recent shoot-
some serious cuteness, right?
i keep saying it, and i mean it with every fiber of my being....i am so blessed to be able to do what i do, and have such awesome people to work with. i have to pinch myself. every time i meet with a family, i am struck by the fact that i keep meeting the most quality people! i know the cycle could be broken at any time and i'll have a shoot with a difficult family, but for now, i'm just super thankful!
edit: i keep coming back to this post and adding to it! i just found out that my article is up on the fiskars website. this article is near and dear to my heart, it's titled the artful canvas and as anyone who knows me knows, i love creating art on canvas! check it out-but be forewarned, if you haven't done a canvas before, it's addictive. sorta like getting tattoos.
well, i have groceries to buy, work to do, kids to watch, dinner to make, photos to take....and still no time to workout or do my artist's pages. but that's okay. this is a milestone time in life and i don't want to have any regrets. so i guess i'll be a little out of shape physically for another week or so. ha! fine, whatever. i gotta love on some little people.
have a great day and God bless.
