i'm normally a very upbeat, level person. very rarely ever feel down. but for whatever reason, i'm a little down today. it's ridiculous because everything is going well. maybe it's all the junk i've eaten? or maybe it's just the natural ebb and flow. i'm trying to just embrace it, so i can move on. and really it's not a terrible thing. maybe it's a necessary thing? i'll get over it. it's not terrible, i'm just not bubbling over with enthusiasm.
no big plans for tonight. tom is having some major dental work done this afternoon, so we may be home eating soup :) which isn't a bad thing. i love being at home. i have a new tomato basil soup recipe...i just need to get to the store and buy ingredients. i have a whole list of new recipes that i'm anxious to try. healthy stuff. trying to get back on track.
yesterday, in addition to having a lovely lunch with the bagels, including holly, i picked alexis and her friend kaitlyn up for a photoshoot. they are at such a golden age. i love this age. just hitting double digits. still innocent....and not at the awkward stages yet. and naturally beautiful. how can you go wrong?
this is one of my "new" chairs.
such cuties. and easy to be around. when we got back to the house, they sat and read a book. love this age!
as the new year approaches, i am in a reflective and contemplative mood. here are a few quotes i came across this morning.
"all things are literally better, lovelier, and more beloved for the imperfections which have been divinely appointed". john ruskin
"i know that i have found fulfillment. i have an object in life, a task,....a passion". george sand
and the best quotes of all, from the Word.
"people are like grass that dies away; their beauty fades as quickly as the beauty of wildflowers. the grass withers, the flowers fall away. but the word of the Lord will last forever". 1 peter 1:24-25
"you should be known for the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God." 1 peter 3:4
"if you want to live a happy life and good days, keep your tongue from speaking evil, and keep your lips from telling lies. turn away from evil and do good. work hard at living in peace with others. the eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and His ears are open to their prayers. but the Lord turns His face against those who do evil". 1 peter 3:10-12
i feel better already. i'm sure a day at home, is just what i need...focusing on positive thoughts.
i hope that as 2008 draws to a close, and we start a brand new year, that you and your family are blessed with good health, balance, love and prosperity. God bless each of you!

we all have those days, i get them around "that time" of the month and they are for NO reason whatsoever! don't worry, cause then when the happy day comes, its even better! hugs friend!

I think a big part of being in that mood is the weather. Hopefully his dental work goes smoothly. Love the new pix and thanks for posting those quotes! I love them!

Thanks Becky for your continued commitment to being real and the scriptures you listed.
I have committed to focusing on scripture memory this year. Beth Moore offered a challenge on her blog to memorize two a month. And I was just praying asking the Lord what my first one would be, and then pulled up your blog, I chose the 1 Pet verse.
Excited to see what God has in store for 2009! May His steadfast love fill you to overflowing as you rest in Him - Isa 30:15 encourages me to take the moments that He provides.
Enjoy!

Here is the verse I had for today: "You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever." Psalm 16:11, NLT |
Wishing you much joy in His presence, Becky, and pleasure in knowing we will live with Him forever. Happy New Year
